The first gloomy, rainy days have arrived but even autumn has its positive sides. This is the best season to begin to enjoy staying at home and using your house more, perhaps organising a heart-warming dinner with your family and friends.
How nice is it to spend an evening in the intimacy of your living room, chatting happily before the warmth of a lit stove? (If you’re looking for one for your home, the Palazzetti catalogue contains stoves of all sorts and sizes: check out all the models here!)
On top of this, this season offers some amazing colours. Just thinks of all the red and yellow shades of autumn leaves, as well as the various orange tones of pumpkins.
Let’s leave the rainy weather outdoors and take only beautiful autumn colours indoors with us.
We have already given you some tips about some DIY decorations for this season. Now let’s take a look at some original ideas to decorate your autumn table with just one, ageless and essential ingredient: creativity!
Her majesty the pumpkin
One of autumn’s most typical symbols is the pumpkin. If you think it can only be used to decorate Halloween, you’re wrong.
This vegetable is available in a great variety of shapes and colours and is perfect to decorate your autumn table. Since it has intrinsic decorative qualities, there’s no need to add much to it to turn it into a centrepiece.
A very eye-catching idea could be to surround pumpkins with some twigs, perhaps with some berries or small autumn fruits on them.

Another, different way to use a pumpkin is to transform it into a flower vase.
For a tone-on-tone effect you could paint your pumpkin in a light colour, stand it on a wooden circle and fill it with all sorts of dried flowers. You will never have to change the water and the stunning effect will last all autumn long!

Multi-coloured leaves
We started with pumpkins but this is also the season of multi-coloured and multi-shaped leaves.
They are beautifully decorative just as they are, without adding anything fancy. They can be used in many ways in autumn table settings: as placeholders for instance.
To make some yourself, you can collect the prettiest leaves in your garden or make some typical maple leaves using the right-coloured card.

You can also use different-shaped leaves to create a runner to place along the centre of your table: a clever way to renew your favourite tablecloth without changing it!

The magic of candles
How about candles?! At times, a bit of candlelight is all it takes to turn dinner at home into a special evening.
Autumn-inspired candle holders are therefore a must for a perfect autumn table setting. All types of creations can be made by using your imagination and taking your cue from nature.

A great idea is to stand a candle in a large glass vase and surround it with natural elements: leaves, berries and twigs will easily inspire you!
