The pellet stoves of the future will be intelligent, efficient and increasingly sustainable. With the new Superat project, co-financed thanks to the IRISS call for proposals promoted by SMACT, we are exploring the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence to revolutionise domestic heating.
It is a journey that has only just begun, but is already full of potential: an initiative that aims to make our pellet stoves not just heating tools, but real technological devices for a more efficient future.
An innovative vision for sustainable heating
Superat – whose full name is ‘Pellet Stoves Controlled by Adaptive Techniques and Artificial Intelligence for Technical Assistance’ – is a research and development project, born from the collaboration with the SMACT Competence Centre, AIperTech and Lean Experience Factory and the support of the Upper Adriatic Technological Pole.
The objective? To create a technological platform capable of analysing data from Palazzetti’s connected stoves, to improve consumption and efficiency, and to identify improper use in a predictive manner.
Although this is just the experimental stage, Superat represents a major breakthrough in the biomass heating sector. Our dream for the future is to turn this technology into a standard, offering real benefits in terms of both sustainability and household management.
How does Superat work?
The project revolves around an intelligent device developed by AIperTech, the project’s technical partner and spin-off of the University of Udine’s Artificial Intelligence laboratory, which is able to collect and analyse stove operating data. Through advanced artificial intelligence algorithms, the data are processed to:
- detect misuse or anomalies
- optimise energy efficiency;
- improve preventive maintenance.
At this stage, we are working to integrate the platform into our business systems. The data collected will be used to improve internal processes and make technical support faster and more effective. In the next steps, we plan to extend the project to our service centres in the territory and, in the future, to end users, who will be able to rely on customised notifications to make the best use of their stoves.

A network of excellence
Superat is possible thanks to a strategic collaboration with first-class partners:
- AiperTech, an academic spin-off specialising in intelligent solutions;
- Lean Experience Factory, a leader in digitisation processes;
- SMACT Competence Centre, promoter of the project through the IRISS call for proposals.
This network of competences allows us to face new challenges and explore technological solutions that really make a difference.
A project that look to the future
Superat is not just an idea, but a project in full development that aims to redefine the future of home heating. With this initiative, we are committed to innovation while remaining true to our values of sustainability, quality and attention to user needs.
We will enthusiastically follow the evolution of Superat, ready to share the progress of this technological adventure.
