How long have you waited for this moment? Putting on a new coat for the very first time, dusting off that sweater in your wardrobe that you love so much, savouring pumpkin bread and those numerous other tasks that make you say yes, the cold weather is finally upon us.
As summer fades, there is a desire to light the fireplace for the first time and feel pampered. The lights are soft and the walls come alive with the ripple of the fire’s glow. And the only sound to embrace you is the slight crackling of the burning wood.
So what’s missing from all this to create an even more magical atmosphere? Well, write your must do list in front of one of our fireplaces (why not the new Wt model). Don’t say we don’t think about your hygge!
4 things to do in front of your fireplace or stove
Is there anything cosier than holding a cup of steaming hot chocolate? We honestly doubt it. It’s quick to prepare and the pleasure of savouring it in a silence broken only by the sweet sound of a crackling fire… unparalleled.

Does a hot drink without something to munch on make sense? Maybe it does, maybe it doesn’t. But when in doubt, some chestnuts don’t hurt. Attention to detail is important even with side dishes, so cut them slightly on the smoothest side, let them roast and then – once slightly cooled – enjoy the sweetest taste that spreads to every corner of your mouth.

If your kids are already back from school, dance class or football, can you imagine anything sweeter or cosier than curling up with them on the mat right in front of the fireplace? Give them a hand with their homework, roll around with them and finish the day off before bed with the warmest of hugs.
In case you don’t really feel like any of this and maybe you’re alone in the house, the solution is very simple: spread yourself out on your back in the half-light broken only by the waves of light coming from your fireplace, maybe in the company of a book or a newspaper.
Closing your eyes and freeing your mind will be easier than you could have imagined.
As David Lynch would say in Twin Peaks, Fire walks with me.
