(opens in a new tab)\">and we definitely know something about that!<\/a>). Well some new year cleaning can come to your rescue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What with dinners, parties, festivities,\nthe Befana celebrations and Santa Claus, it is perhaps time to take stock. And\nthink about how to spruce up our <em>maison<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don&#8217;t worry, this doesn&#8217;t involve endless\ndays of work. But <strong>with the right planning<\/strong>,\nyou <strong>can have your place freshened up in\nno time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The beginning of the new year always\nbrings with it a desire to make a change (think New Year\u2019s resolutions). So why\nnot start with your home? Well, then\nmaybe we should start right there. Even without using chemicals, but using\nsubstances such as bicarbonate of soda and coarse salt, or water and lemon. Or simply vinegar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the right amount of scrubbing, taking\ncare not to be too aggressive, <strong>your oven\nwill shine as if it had never been used.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Staying in the kitchen, <strong>it might be a good idea to spend some time\non the fridge<\/strong>. Do you recall how when you opened it over the Christmas break\nyou felt like you were at the Battle of Waterloo?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A bit of a tidy-up will work wonders.\nRemove everything, eliminate any products that have gone off (be more mindful\nof waste next time), wipe the shelves with a damp cloth and a little vinegar\n(you could even use a non-abrasive cleaning product). When they are dry,\nreplace the food carefully. Don&#8217;t you feel better already?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Let&#8217;s not\nforget the living room!<\/strong> Whether you have a large open space or a\nsmaller area, the sofa is a must. If the weather permits and it&#8217;s a lovely sunny day with no\nrain, no clouds and no fog, <strong>start with\nyour rugs<\/strong>. Give them a really good beating (such as they haven&#8217;t received\nin a while).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And don&#8217;t forget to vacuum or to sprinkle\nsome bicarbonate of soda powder (allowing it to work for 6\/7 hours and then\nsweep it away). Dust-mites\ndefinitely won&#8217;t thank you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even a <strong>quick dusting of your bedside tables and furniture won&#8217;t hurt<\/strong>. Jeans or sweaters you don&#8217;t wear\nanymore? Get rid of them. Pots or pans that you&#8217;re definitely never going to\nuse again? Deal with them too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tidying up your house also means tidying up what you\ndon&#8217;t use<\/strong>. But not everything has to be thrown away. There are\nthings you can donate to charities, for example.
