In Pordenone, architetto Filippo Caprioglio has renovated an old family home constructed in the seventies. The project made room for a completely prefabricated property in which traditional living concepts have been totally revolutionised i.e. a new, eco-sustainable house made of wood.

An eco-sustainable home: the Pordenone project

When you think of a prefabricated home, there’s no reason to imagine a standard or simplified project. This house has a dynamic design in which the central body of the property juts out from the facade, is connected to a steel structure and features windows on three floors. The main staircase, an architectural element that connects all levels, is contained in this section of the house. The interior layout is definitely unusual compared to traditional standards: in fact, the living room, dining area and kitchen are all located on the top floor of the property. The kitchen leads onto a large terrace from which one can benefit from a beautiful view of the Carnic Prealps.

Customized fireplace Palazzetti
The undisputed star of the living room area is a customized fireplace Palazzetti. The firebox is an Ecomonoblocco S25:9 frontale. It boasts a remote-controlled door and has been chosen because it offers a spectacular view of the fire. The fireplace is clad entirely in Travertino marble with black sheet metal inserts matching the firewood holder installed next to it. The bedrooms are in the basement while the home office is situated on the ground floor.

What type of heating has been chosen?

The decision to build an eco-sustainable home made entirely of wood, paired with technologically-advanced systems, has produced extraordinary energy savings. The heating system relies on a cutting-edge home automation system and a combination of a heat pump and a CT PRO 24T  Palazzetti pellet boiler paired with solar and photovoltaic panels. A 1000-litre Multi-energy Multicell tank has been installed to make sure there is always plenty of hot water available and the boiler has been connected to an automatic Pneumatic Pellet Feed System with a capacity of 1700 kg.
